WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Officials with the Wichita Falls Fire Department mentioned an arson investigation is underway after two vans that belong to Red River Hospital caught on hearth Sunday afternoon.
According to Jody Ashlock, Assistant Fire Marshal with WFFD, firefighters have been notified of a car hearth behind Red River Hospital within the 1500 block of eighth Street round 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
Ashlock mentioned when firefighters arrived on the scene, two autos have been discovered with hearth displaying within the parking zone south of the hospital.
Both autos have been Ford F350 passenger vans that belonged to the hospital.
According to Ashlock, each autos have been vacant and had been parked and locked previous to the incident.
Ashlock mentioned one of many vans that was ablaze rolled ahead towards the entry of the hospital when the aluminum drive shaft coupling melted.
The hospital sustained no injury, however Ashlock mentioned one of many worker’s autos that was parked close by sustained about $2,000 in injury from warmth publicity.
In all, Ashlock mentioned 4 autos have been broken within the incident with an estimated whole injury of $30,000.
According to Ashlock, it took about 20 minutes to utterly extinguish the 2 autos. No accidents have been talked about to civilians or hearth personnel within the accident report.
